Shark Week officially kicks off July 26 and runs through August 1 this year, but for Michalove, Shark Week is every week.
The Faces of Lowcountry Hospitality Part 1
Hospitality is what built this place, and we’re all pretty good at it here. But these professionals are operating on a higher plane.
Biking & Beachfront Bar Hopping on Hilton Head Island
It was a great way to wrap up a fun day together, making new memories, and exploring the beach bars that make Hilton Head a great place to live and visit. If you plan on trying this beach bar biking adventure, we recommend checking the tides in advance and being in fairly good physical condition… it’s quite the workout!
Stumpy is Coming
Stumpy and I have constructed four nests together – two in 2020 and two in 2023. She is due back this year. If we keep meeting up like this, I’ll be ready with my digger and honored to receive this rare blessing.
Hilton Head Island’s New Airport Terminal Now Open
The traffic pattern for the airport has also been improved. More lanes are available for picking up and dropping off travelers. Future plans are in place to improve the parking lot conditions as well.
Nesting Season at the Port Royal Cypress Wetlands
The Port Royal Cypress Wetlands is just one of the many locations where Moore to Life offers concierge services. Educational outings can also be scheduled at Hunting Island, Pinckney Island, Fish Haul Beach, and Botany Bay on Edisto Island.

Creating Community at the Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade
Lantern parade logistics and planning are handled by the Office of Cultural Affairs at the Town of Hilton Head. Formed eight years ago, the department supports diverse arts and cultural nonprofit groups and their programs on the island.
Sartorial Season
We love autumn in the South because we can finally wear clothing. A real ensemble – not a tiny piece of fabric with two straps attached that tries not to add any perspiration on your already balmy body. Think jackets, boots, and pantsuits delightfully layered with scarves and hats and other rich embellishments. With Old Town Bluffton as the backdrop, Allie and Zake model some of the latest fall looks from our local boutiques.
Shrimping on the Tammy Jane
Dolphins were everywhere. A pod was aggressively going after a school of bait fish. We saw lots of jumping, splashing, and even some spinning.
