On Hilton Head Island, Black Friday at Coligny Plaza is all about shopping local, celebrating community, seeing Santa from the sky, and kicking off the holiday season in style! On Friday, November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, Coligny invites locals and visitors to trade the big-box shopping frenzy for a festive day of local shopping, holiday entertainment, and the return of the Santa Bar Crawl.
“Black Friday has become a day that we really honor Coligny’s commitment to the community by giving our shops and restaurants a day-long opportunity to get a jump on the holidays,” said JR Richardson, owner of Coligny. “At the same time, we give the community something that can bring them together to kick off the season.”
At Island Girl, the excitement builds right up to the register, where you get to pull a surprise grab-bag discount at checkout to reveal extra savings on your favorite fashion and gifts.
Families can join the fun, too, with the Jevon Daly Kids Show from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The celebration continues with Santa’s spectacular arrival by helicopter, which begins around 12:45 p.m., followed by photos from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
“The coolest part is what I do at Black Friday and all through December. It’s kind of like coming to Santa’s workshop – except the elves get to come up to the microphone and sing a Christmas song,” said Daly, who added that people who mention this article to him during a show might just win a prize. “So, come on down if you know all the words to ‘Frosty the Snowman.’”
Then, the Santa Bar Crawl is ready to steal the show. Starting at The Earle of Sandwich, the crawl invites participants to explore Coligny’s restaurants and bars, sip festive cocktails, and soak up the holiday atmosphere along the way. Gather your friends, discover local favorites, and toast the season with great drinks, good company, and plenty of holiday cheer. This annual adult only event is Black Friday with a Coligny twist!
The holiday fun continues throughout December, with shoppers able to enter receipts from Coligny businesses at ColignyPlaza.com/Christmas for a chance to win $1,000 on Christmas Day, and to see Jevon’s Kids Show and Santa throughout the month.
