How many years have you been in the real estate business and what do you enjoy most about it?
I’ve been in real estate since 2014, but I’ve spent most of my life in the Lowcountry. What I enjoy most is being involved and trusted with decisions that genuinely matter to people. A home is often someone’s largest investment, but it’s also where life happens. I enjoy being the person clients can count on for straight answers, strategy, local knowledge, and strong representation from the first conversation through closing, and long after.
What is your favorite room in a house?
The kitchen, without question. No matter how beautiful the rest of a home is, people always seem to end up there. It is always the heart of the home – where families gather, friends linger, and everyday life happens. I also think kitchens say a lot about how people actually live, which is why they can have such a big impact on how a buyer connects with a home.
What advice do you have for buyers and sellers in our current market?
Ignore the national headlines and understand your specific market. Real estate is regional, and can change dramatically from one community, neighborhood, or street to the next. Sellers need to price correctly, present the property exceptionally well, and have a real marketing strategy. Buyers need to understand inventory, recent sales, and where they actually have leverage. The right decision usually comes from good information, not emotion or internet noise.
When selling our area, what things do you specifically highlight and why?
I sell the lifestyle my client is looking for, before I sell the house. The Lowcountry is difficult to understand until you experience it – the water, golf, boating, beaches, live oaks, history, food, and sense of community. People may begin their search looking for a home, but what they are really choosing is how they want to live. That is what makes this area so special. If they love the community, they will love their home.
How do you spend your time when you aren’t showing houses?
Most of my time outside of work is spent with my wife, Brittani, and our two children, Penelope and Julian. I also enjoy boating, racing sports cars, being outdoors, and spending time in the same communities I represent every day, with no agenda. This area isn’t simply where I sell real estate. It’s home, and that makes my connection to it much more personal.
Has technology changed how you sell real estate? What are the pluses and minuses?
Technology has completely changed how buyers search, how sellers are marketed, and how quickly information moves. It is always evolving. Professional media, social media, digital advertising, and real-time market data give us incredible reach. The downside is that access to information can create the illusion of expertise. A website can show you a house, but it can’t explain the nuances of a community, evaluate a property in context, show you the lifestyle in the evenings, or negotiate a difficult transaction. Technology is a powerful tool, when regulated, but experience and judgment still matter.

How many years have you been in the real estate business and what do you enjoy most about it?
I’m going into my third year in real estate. What I enjoy most is helping people achieve their real estate goals, building relationships, and learning more about the area we’re lucky to call home.
What is your favorite room in a house?
The kitchen, for sure. It’s where people gather, share laughs, and enjoy a good meal. Coming from a Mexican background, food is one of the ways we show love. Cooking is also one of my biggest passions, so the kitchen has always been special to me.
What advice do you have for buyers and sellers in our current market?
Be patient, stay informed, and work with someone you trust. Every buyer and seller has a different story, and having a knowledgeable professional to guide you makes a big difference.
When selling our area, what things do you specifically highlight and why?
I would say the lifestyle, but most importantly, the people and culture. The Lowcountry is beautiful, with so much to enjoy outdoors, but it’s the welcoming community that makes it special. Coming from another country, I experienced that firsthand. The people here made me feel welcome, and that sense of community and lifestyle are a big part of what drew me to real estate in the first place.
How do you spend your time when you aren’t showing houses?
Still on my phone and computer all day! But I love spending time with family and friends, getting outdoors, attending local events, and supporting local businesses – most of which happen to be restaurants because, honestly, I love eating.
Has technology changed how you sell real estate? What are the pluses and minuses, in your opinion, with the rise of the internet in real estate transactions.
Absolutely. Technology helps us save time, reach more clients, communicate faster, and market properties more effectively. The downside is relying on it too much and losing that personal connection. Real estate is still a people business, and relationships and communication are what truly make the difference.

Kelly Ruhlin
COAST brokered by EXP Realty
How many years have you been in real estate, and what do you enjoy most?
I’ve been in real estate for more than 11 years, and the relationships are what I treasure most. Many clients become extended family and lifelong friends; those connections don’t end at closing. Real estate is also a family affair for us. My husband, Eric Ruhlin, and our son, Zach Ruhlin, are both licensed real estate agents, and it’s especially exciting to see Zach’s sales career really take off this year.
What is your favorite room in a house?
The kitchen, because it’s where everyone gathers. I love thoughtful design, beautiful materials, and spaces that connect naturally to the outdoors. In the Lowcountry, though, the kitchen doesn’t have to be inside. It might be an outdoor kitchen overlooking the marsh or a covered porch perfect for alfresco dinners. The best spaces bring people together, whether around an island or beneath the live oaks.
What advice do you have for buyers and sellers in today’s market?
Buyers should look beyond appearances and consider location, construction, condition, renovation potential, and long-term value. My husband, Eric, is a builder, and both of our sons work alongside him in construction. Eric and our son Zach are also licensed real estate agents. Our family’s hands-on experience in building, renovating, and real estate gives us a unique perspective, helping us appreciate craftsmanship, recognize potential, and identify opportunities and possible challenges that buyers might otherwise overlook.
For sellers, realistic pricing, thoughtful preparation, and exceptional marketing are essential. Every property is different, and I believe both buyers and sellers deserve straightforward advice tailored to their goals.
What do you highlight when selling our area?
Hilton Head’s natural beauty drew me here: live oaks draped in Spanish moss, saltwater marshes, wildlife, tidal creeks, and even the familiar scent of pluff mud. But it’s the lifestyle that makes people stay. You can bicycle across the island, enjoy the beaches, golf, tennis, and wonderful restaurants. Sheltered creeks and rivers also offer comfortable boating away from the ocean’s choppier waters, with waterfront dining and sandbars to explore. And we’re close to Bluffton, Beaufort, Savannah, and Charleston, each with its own charm. I love helping buyers find the community that feels like home.
How do you spend time when you aren’t showing houses?
Outside, whenever possible! I love walking, biking, and boating with family and friends. Being on the water, watching wildlife, or enjoying a beautiful afternoon together is my idea of a perfect day. I’m also devoted to my dog, Benelli, and our granddogs, Kimber and Marlin. It’s the simple pleasures of Lowcountry living that mean the most to me.
How has technology changed real estate?
Photography, video, virtual tours, and digital marketing let us reach buyers around the world, especially important in a destination market like Hilton Head. But online estimates and listing data can’t capture every difference in views, craftsmanship, condition, or location. Technology broadens our reach; local expertise, sound judgment, negotiation, and personal relationships are what turn information into good decisions.

Nevada Ange
Engel & Volkers
What is your favorite room in a house and why?
Hands down, the Carolina Room! I love the natural light, the views, and that feeling of bringing the outdoors inside. It’s where I enjoy my morning ritual, catch up with family, and work on my laptop instead of sitting in my office. When the workday is over, it’s the perfect place to sit back, relax, and wind down.
Tell us one thing clients are surprised to know about buying/selling a house in the Lowcountry.
One thing that surprises many of my clients isn’t about buying here – it’s more about adjusting to the slower paced Lowcountry lifestyle. Most of my clients come from the north, where life moves at a much faster pace. I can explain all day long that things move a little slower down here, but they don’t truly understand it until they experience it for themselves.
Do you have a neighborhood you specialize in?
I specialize in Bluffton, but beyond location, I really specialize in helping people find the lifestyle that fits them. Whether it’s understanding what makes an equestrian community special, finding the right neighborhood for a boating family, connecting with cheer moms, or knowing the best local spots for various services, I love sharing the ins and outs of living here.
Give a shout-out to a local business or restaurant that you highly recommend to people new to our area.
If you’re new to Bluffton, you have to check out Cahill’s! Their good, old-fashioned Southern cooking reminds me of my grandma’s cooking back in Kentucky, so it has a special place in my heart.

Jenny Filkins
Dunes Real Estate
How many years have you been in the real estate business and what do you enjoy most about it?
I’ve been working in real estate full-time on Hilton Head Island for about seven years now. I genuinely enjoy working with long-time island residents. They always have bits of local history to share, and I often walk away having learned something new.
What is your favorite room in a house?
Usually, my favorite room in a home isn’t a room at all – it’s the porch! One of the things I love about living in the Lowcountry is being able to enjoy the outdoors nearly year-round.
Has technology changed how you sell real estate? What are the pluses and minuses, in your opinion, with the rise of the internet in real estate transactions?
Life is funny that way – always evolving. What feels like groundbreaking technology today will be everyday life before we know it. I still take a somewhat old-school approach because I believe personal relationships and good communication are irreplaceable. While websites like Zillow make exploring homes easier than ever, they don’t tell the whole story. On Hilton Head, things like HOA fees, assessments, pet and rental restrictions can be complex, and online information isn’t always accurate. Technology is a great tool, but there’s no substitute for local knowledge and personal service.

Laura Leigh Miles
Premier Properties by Haig Point
How many years have you been in the real estate business and what do you enjoy most about it?
I have been in the business for five years. I enjoy the relationships I build along the way. Real estate is about helping people through exciting new chapters in their lives. I love getting to know my clients, understanding what’s important to them, and helping them however I can. Being able to share my love for Daufuskie Island and the unique lifestyle makes it even more rewarding.
What is your favorite room in a house?
My favorite room in a home is definitely the kitchen. I’ve always felt that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and I love to cook and entertain. The kitchen is where everyone naturally gathers. Some of the best memories are made in the kitchen, and I love how it brings family and friends together.
What advice do you have for buyers and sellers in our current market?
My best advice to both buyers and sellers in today’s market is to be informed, realistic, and patient. For sellers, pricing your home correctly from the beginning is more important than ever.
For buyers, I encourage them to recognize opportunity and not wait for the perfect market. Finding the right property at the right price is what matters most and being prepared to negotiate can make a big difference.
When selling our area, what things do you specifically highlight and why?
When selling Daufuskie Island and Haig Point, I always highlight the lifestyle just as much as the homes themselves. We are fortunate to be surrounded by natural beauty, beautiful beaches, abundant wildlife, and breathtaking water views. Daufuskie Island offers something special – a slower pace of life, a strong sense of community, and an opportunity to disconnect from everyday life.
I love sharing the charm of island living! It’s not just about finding the perfect home; it’s about finding a lifestyle that makes every day feel a little like vacation.
How do you spend your time when you aren’t showing houses?
When I’m not selling houses, I love spending time with my family and friends. Whether it’s being out on the water, relaxing at the beach, cooking, or entertaining, I love making the most of where we live. I especially enjoy visiting my kids at College of Charleston and seeing them thrive in this phase of their life.
Has technology changed how you sell real estate? What are the pluses and minuses?
Technology has changed the way we sell real estate. Buyers have information at their fingertips, and as Realtors, we have incredible tools to market properties through photography, videos, social media, and online platforms. This is especially valuable on Daufuskie Island, where many buyers are from out of town and begin their search without ever visiting the island.
The downside is that not everything online tells the whole story. Automated home valuations aren’t always accurate, especially in a market as unique as ours, and photos and descriptions can only tell you so much about a property. There’s also so much information available that it can sometimes be overwhelming or misleading.
Technology is an amazing tool, but it will never replace the personal relationships, local knowledge, and experience that a good Realtor brings to the table. Real estate is still very much a people business, and that’s what I love most about it!

COAST brokered by EXP Realty
There’s an old saying: If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
It’s a saying that highlights the importance of a team, balancing individual strengths and experiences to create something far more than the sum of its parts.
If you want a real-world example of that saying in action, meet Margi Rice, Samantha Wright, and Lisa Towns of COAST brokered by EXP Realty. For the past few months, this powerhouse trio has been making its mark on island real estate, helping clients in need and knitting a close friendship.
“The culture of our team really stands out. I don’t know of any other team in the area doing what we’re doing,” Rice said. “And the support of our team leads, Rick Saba and Tristan O’Grady, is unbelievable.”
Each brings their own skills, abilities, and insights to the team. For Rice, it’s her extensive social media presence.
“I have followers from all over, and it’s how people get to know me,” she said. “By the time they come to you as a Realtor, they feel like they know you and your ethos.”
That massive online following caught Wright’s eye, along with the culture and energy of the team that shone through in each post and reel. She came aboard and the pair of them teamed up with Towns, a three-year veteran at COAST. The results have been more than any of them dreamed, with Wright putting together two massive contracts since starting at COAST in July and Towns representing high-net-worth buyers in the luxury space.
“We’re working with people who are retiring, people who are buying their second or third home, first time homeowners, investors,” Rice said. “In the time we’ve been together, we’ve accomplished a lot.”

Sara Huiss
Charter One Realty
How many years have you been in the real estate business, and what do you enjoy most about it?
I’ve been licensed for nine years and have been actively helping clients buy and sell homes in Hilton Head Island and Bluffton for the past five.
Before real estate, I served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft maintenance officer and political-military affairs officer. My maintenance and logistics background gave me a real advantage. A real estate transaction has many moving parts, and staying organized and solving problems early helps keep things on track. My political-military work also taught me how to negotiate with people who have competing interests.
I also spent a year working for a local homebuilder. There, I learned what makes a quality home, from evaluating land to knowing which inspections should never be skipped. Hiring the wrong agent can be a costly mistake, and a missed detail can cost a buyer thousands down the road.
What I enjoy most is solving problems and looking out for my clients’ best interests. Every home and transaction is different, so there’s always something new to work through. I’ve also built a trusted network of local lenders, inspectors, and contractors.
There’s nothing better than handing over the keys knowing my clients made a well-informed decision.
What advice do you have for buyers and sellers in our current market?
In our current market, preparation is everything. Buyers should get fully pre-approved, know their budget, and never skip inspections, because a well-negotiated inspection can save thousands. Sellers should price realistically and address likely inspection issues before listing. Well-maintained, updated homes stand out and tend to sell with fewer surprises.
When selling our area, what things do you specifically highlight and why?
When selling a home on Hilton Head Island or in Bluffton, I highlight both the Lowcountry lifestyle and how well the home has been maintained.
Buyers come here for the beaches, golf, boating, bike paths, and marsh views. I show how each home fits that lifestyle, whether it’s close to the beach, has a deep-water dock, or is a short drive from Old Town Bluffton.
Just as important is the home’s condition. Our coastal climate is hard on houses. Heat, humidity, salt air, heavy rain, and storms take a toll on roofs, flashing, stucco, exterior wood, crawlspaces, and attics. Even metal roofs need attention because fasteners and seals can deteriorate over time. Before listing, I walk through the home looking for issues that might show up on an inspection report and recommend addressing them early.
Buyers want to know a home has been taken care of, especially in our coastal climate. A home with documented maintenance gives buyers a clearer picture of its condition and can help prevent concerns during negotiations. Regularly checking the roof, keeping the crawlspace dry, and addressing wood rot or stucco cracks can prevent small problems from becoming expensive repairs. Taking care of issues before listing can reduce last-minute surprises and help negotiations go more smoothly.

Michelle Garbade
Charter One Realty
Some readers know you as Michelle Elliott. What’s the story behind your new last name?
Same Michelle, new last name! I got married last November, so I’m officially Michelle Garbade.
You’ve lived on both Hilton Head Island and in Bluffton. How does that experience help you guide your clients?
Living in both has helped me get to know the everyday side of each area. I want to know how my clients like to spend their time, because that helps me connect them with communities they’ll enjoy. Beach walks, boating, pool days, or being close to a favorite dinner spot – those details matter when you’re choosing where to call home.
What do you enjoy most about real estate, and what can clients expect when working with you?
I love meeting people and sharing what I know about the Lowcountry. Ask me about the area, and we may be chatting for a while! My goal is for clients to feel comfortable asking questions, telling me what matters to them, and being honest about what works and what doesn’t. That’s how we find the right fit.
What advice would you give someone thinking about buying or selling but unsure where to start?
Give me a call and let’s talk about what you’re thinking. You don’t need to have your timeline figured out or your house ready for photos. We’ll talk through your goals and create a game plan together. Sometimes getting started is simply saying, “I’ve been thinking about moving.”
What do you wish more buyers would ask before falling in love with a house?
“What would my everyday life look like here?” It’s easy to fall for a beautiful kitchen or a great view. But I also want buyers to think about where they’ll go, what they’ll do, and how the location fits into their routines. You’re choosing a home, and the life around it deserves just as much attention.

What is your favorite room in the house and why?
Sunroom or screened in porch. It’s the best place to experience the true Lowcountry feel.
Tell us one thing most clients are surprised to know about buying or selling a house in the Lowcountry.
That they need to know their property’s elevation; this is important in the insurance process. Also, termite bond and quarterly treatments are extremely important here. And look at the big-ticket items: windows, HVAC, type of plumbing, roof – these can affect your loan if they are older.
Do you have a neighborhood you specialize in?
We have lived in many, so definitely Palmetto Dunes, Palmetto Hall, Hilton Head Plantation, Rose Hill, and Mill Creek at Cypress Ridge. We know these areas well!
Give us three things you love to highlight when talking to a person who is hoping to move to our area.
1. Nature. We live in an area that is so beautiful. Our beaches are the best!
2. Active lifestyle. There are so many activities on Hilton Head Island and in Bluffton. There really is something for everyone at all ages.
3. Restaurants. We have more than – 250 to choose from and they are all delicious!
Give a shout-out to a local business or restaurant that you highly recommend to people new to our area.

Kara Fortney, Beth Boulware, Jay Langston, Jimmy Weissberg, Kevin King, Lynn King
Kevin King Associates – Charter One Realty
In nearly 40 years of Lowcountry real estate, I’ve learned that the details behind a property often matter as much as the first impression. A waterfront setting requires an understanding of access and tides. A private golf community deserves a closer look at membership and club culture. Selling a distinctive home calls for a precise understanding of its value and the buyers most likely to appreciate it.
That depth of understanding defines our approach at Kevin King Associates, part of Charter One Realty.
Since beginning my real estate career in 1987, I’ve helped clients navigate changing markets throughout Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, and the surrounding Lowcountry. My background in resort lending and professional golf has shaped my perspective on this market, particularly its private club communities. Over the years, the relationships I’ve built have become the most valuable resources I can offer our clients.
Today, Jimmy Weissberg, Jay Langston, Kara Fortney, Beth Boulware, and I bring complementary experience to every property we represent and every client we advise.
Jimmy’s background as an electrician and project manager gives him a practical understanding of the work behind a finished home. His subsequent experience in compliance and administration brings careful organization and a disciplined approach to the transaction.
Jay, a South Carolina native, brings two decades of experience in medical device and biopharmaceutical sales. He understands the importance of listening carefully, anticipating questions, and maintaining the personal attention clients expect when making a significant purchase or sale.
Kara combines more than 20 years in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry with a background in business and commercial lending. Her financial perspective, paired with an eye for interiors and staging, helps clients assess a property’s potential and prepare a home for its introduction to the market.
Beth’s experience in luxury property marketing, relocation, and business development adds another dimension to our representation. Previously Charter One Realty’s director of marketing and relocation, she brings a clear understanding of how to position a home, communicate its distinct qualities, and reach the appropriate audience.
Together, we advise clients throughout Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Okatie, and the greater Lowcountry, from waterfront residences to private golf communities and second homes.
Our service is personal and deliberate. We help buyers examine the details that will shape their ownership experience. For sellers, we develop a strategy grounded in pricing, presentation, and the property’s place within its specific market.
I’m proud to work alongside people who care deeply about their profession and this community. Our clients receive the benefit of our collective perspective, with the discretion, candor, and attention their decisions deserve.

Loni Lueke
exp Realty Luxury
Loni Lueke fell in love with the Lowcountry on her first visit. By her second, she knew she wanted to stay. In 2014, she left Berlin, Germany, and made her home here.
After nearly 30 years as a communication coach in Germany, working in English presented a new challenge. But a lifelong passion opened a door: real estate. For years, Lueke had bought, sold, and remodeled homes in Germany and Portugal. Now she could turn that experience and enthusiasm into a profession.
Her clients soon noticed something different. They appreciated how carefully she listened, her thorough approach, and what they called her German work ethic. Some began calling her “the German Realtor,” and the name stayed.
Today, Lueke brings the same curiosity, care, and attention to people that defined her coaching career. She wants to understand not only what buyers are looking for, but also where they are in life, what matters to them today, and how their needs may change over time. For sellers, she combines preparation, market knowledge, and honest advice to help them make informed decisions.
Having relocated across countries and navigated her own purchases, renovations, and sales, she understands the practical and emotional stress of real estate buyers and sellers.
She still loves exploring Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Beaufort, the communities and neighborhoods – even when she isn’t showing homes.
Lueke’s philosophy: Real estate is about more than houses or transactions. It’s about people, trust, and taking their hopes, concerns, time, and money seriously.

Angelina Singleton, Beth DeAngelis, Joy Gentile – Keller Williams Realty
The Beth DeAngelis Coastal Living Team
How many years have you been in real estate, and what do you enjoy most?
I’ve been a full-time Realtor for 35 years, and what I love most hasn’t changed: the people. Every client has a story and goals beyond the transaction. Helping them make confident, informed decisions is what makes this lifelong career rewarding. I’m proud of our team, who have earned RealTrends Verified Top 10 Small Team recognition in South Carolina seven years running.
What’s your favorite room in a house?
The Carolina Room. I love to start the day with coffee and the light pouring in, the touch of shiplap and brick adding texture and warmth so the outdoors feels like part of the space. I cherish the evenings when I’m home in time to watch the sun set over the water. It’s the Lowcountry lifestyle in a single room.
What advice do you have for buyers and sellers in today’s market?
Sellers: Pricing and presentation are everything. Today’s buyers are well informed and quick to pass on a home that feels overpriced or unprepared, so the right price from Day One matters more than the price you hope for. That’s why we encourage sellers to meet with us when they’re only beginning to think about selling, so repairs, updates, and preparation are handled before professional photography and marketing begin.
Buyers: Look beyond the photographs and asking price. Understand the community, property values, ownership costs including insurance and taxes, and long-term potential. Whether you’re purchasing a luxury waterfront home, a primary residence, or a second home, having someone in your corner who knows the local details protects you from costly surprises.
What do you highlight when selling our area?
The first step to finding the right home is finding the right community. Hilton Head Island and Bluffton offer very different ways to live: beach and boating days, private golf, walkable Old Town Bluffton, or a second home made for easy getaways. Every community has its own rhythm, amenities, and rules, so we help buyers match them to how they want to live before we ever tour a house.
How do you spend your time when you’re not showing houses?
I’m advising clients, negotiating contracts, and leading our team. When I can step away, I treasure time with my family and our dogs.
Has technology changed how you sell real estate? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Love it or hate it, AI has enhanced how we sell real estate, but it has not changed it. It accelerates our marketing, research, and client communication, giving our team more time to advise and advocate for clients. We use these tools daily, and we check what they tell us.
Buyers and sellers now use AI to research homes, communities, even the Realtors they hire. These tools are powerful, but not always right, and they can’t see what matters most. AI can’t give you the “feel” of a home or understand the nuances of every room. It also won’t match a community and home to your needs, guide you through contracts and inspections, or negotiate for you when emotions run high. That takes a person you trust, someone who knows you, your situation, and your goals.
For nearly 20 years, that has been our role in the Lowcountry. We embrace the technology, but never at the expense of one-on-one relationships.

Jennifer Simoneaux Windley
Lowcountry Live Oak Realty
Jennifer Simoneaux Windley’s roots in the Lowcountry run deep. She is a fourth-generation Bluffton native raising the fifth generation of her family here, and that connection shapes how she approaches real estate.
Windley has spent eight years in real estate, and four years ago she opened Lowcountry Live Oak Realty, where she serves as owner and broker-in-charge. She built it as an independent brokerage offering concierge-level service that reflects the community it serves: warm, down-to-earth, and always ready to help. Her focus is Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, and she serves buyers and sellers throughout Beaufort and Jasper counties. She is licensed in both South Carolina and Georgia, is a member of three MLS systems, and works with coastal Georgia clients as a sales agent with Salt Marsh Realty.
Clients value Windley’s local knowledge, her trusted network of area contractors, and her eye for details – like flood zones and regime documents – before they become surprises.
Ask Windley about life here and she’ll tell you about the water and how close it all is: Beaufort, Savannah, Tybee, Daufuskie, Edisto, and Charleston all make easy day trips. Off the clock, you’ll find her boating, at the beach, or cheering on her kids at swim meets and soccer games. Fall means oyster roasts, and summer means Lowcountry boils and fish fries with friends and neighbors.

Dunes Real Estate
How many years have you been in the real estate business, and what do you enjoy most about it?
I’ve been in real estate for 13 years, and what I enjoy most is helping people navigate a move with as little stress as possible. Whether they’re buying or selling, my goal is to educate them, protect their interests, and provide support so they feel confident every step of the way.
What is your favorite room in a house?
The kitchen! No matter how much space a home has, everyone always seems to gather there. It’s where conversations happen, memories are made, and people feel connected.
What advice do you have for buyers and sellers in our current market?
Choose your REALTOR® thoughtfully. You want someone who listens, understands your goals, and can truly represent your needs. Beyond opening doors or listing a home, your agent should explain your options, offer honest guidance, and help you make informed decisions.
When selling our area, what things do you specifically highlight and why?
The Lowcountry lifestyle. From the water and natural beauty to the friendships and sense of community, there’s something special about living here. I always say, “Where else do you breathe a little easier just knowing you’re coming home?” – My Happy Place
How do you spend your time when you aren’t showing houses?
My family is most important to me, and I treasure spending time with my husband, Tim, and our whole family. I’m also very involved with the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club, volunteering throughout the island and supporting many local nonprofits. It’s incredibly fulfilling work and a meaningful way to give back to the community I love.
I also enjoy gardening, kayaking, biking, spending time with friends, and playing with my dog, Blue. Whenever I can, I love exploring places in the Lowcountry I haven’t yet discovered!
Has technology changed how you sell real estate? What are the pluses and minuses of the rise of the internet in real estate transactions?
Absolutely. Technology makes it easier to explore homes, share information, and stay connected throughout a transaction. Buyers and sellers can be more informed before we even meet.
The downside is that having access to information can sometimes create a false sense of confidence. Online research doesn’t always provide the context needed to understand a property, a local market, or a contract. This is especially important when moving from another state, where the process and protections might be different. Technology is a valuable tool, but experienced, personal guidance is still essential.
