Your child will have fun experiencing the game of basketball in a high energy environment while learning the fundamentals from some of the best coaches/players in the area. Campers will also learn the importance of teamwork and how to compete in an end-of-camp tournament. All campers will receive a camp basketball – Hoopship camp T-shirts will be available for purchase. During this fun-filled week campers will learn about concepts such as geometry, engineering, circuits, forces of motion, and simple machines, and while creating projects that will have them eager to learn more!

ADAPTIVE PERFORMING ARTS

FULL-DAY CAMPS
BSOD is OPEN for Full Day Camps ALL SUMMER!
This is NOT a performing arts camp, but a full day summer camp for active and creative rising 1st – 6th graders.
Campers arrive at 9 a.m. and participate in both camp-wide and small group activities all day—both indoors and outdoors—with the goal of expanding their creative minds and exercising their bodies.
By pick up time at 4 p.m., campers will leave with new friendships, smiles and awesome memories … and maybe they’ll be a bit tired out from their fun-filled day as well!

Dancers will THRIVE during a summer full of magic, art, and imagination! We are offering fun-filled summer dance camps for ages 3-5, this summer at Bluffton School of Dance.
From stomping around the safari to rocking out at the disco, we have tons of exciting themes, fun activities, and lots of dancing to make for a memorable week! Your dancer will be talking about it long after they leave the studio.
Ages 3-5 years old, fully potty trained required.

4-Day Summer Camps Offered at First Tee – Lowcountry Campus on Hilton Head
A popular summer-time option for both returning First Tee students as well as new participants and visiting youth, our 4-Day Summer Camps run from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and provide a fun and safe summer activity. Each weekly camp is designed for a target age group, but all skill and experience levels are welcome. Children may be registered for one or multiple camp sessions.

Cost of All Summer Camps: $160 Registration Fee

Week of June 5 Camp – AGES 7 – 11: Monday through Thursday 9 to 11 a.m.

The Sandbox

DATES JUNE 5 – AUGUST 4

The Sandbox Children’s Museum offers a weekly summer camp program for children ages 4 -12 years. Through the guise of play and exploration we offer 9 weeks exciting activities through a variety of themes that integrate hands-on learning with S.T.E.A.M. activities as well as daily staff supervised play with the museum exhibits.

  • Pre-registration is required by no later than Wednesday of the previous week.
  • Children will be supervised according to a 1:5 ratio of staff to children.
  • Children will be divided into groups according to age.
  • A minimum number of children are required each week to hold camp.
  • Children must be 5 to register for full day.

HILTON HEAD THEMES 2023

June 5 – 9 | We are builders!
Using our engineering skills and master tinkering we will work to create and build using a variety of items and materials. We will learn about Rube Goldberg structures and create them in small groups. We will use our Makerspace materials to explore force and motion and simple machines. Children will plan, sketch, and then build!

June 12 -16 | Live at the Theater! Exploring music and dramatic arts
This week children will learn about different art forms such as acting, dance, storytelling and puppetry. Using their creativity, they will collaborate in small groups and put on skits using all materials found in the museum. We will explore how important music is and how it can change the meaning behind what they create. Exploring music history and collaboration with our neighbors the Hilton Head Symphony they will create music of their own.

June 19 – 23 | Water, Water, Everywhere
This session will not only explore different bodies of water but also the composition of water with activities such as sink and float in different substances, exploring bubbles and viscosity, building a boat that floats with our engineering challenge and learn about ocean animals and salt versus fresh water.

June 26 -30 | Let’s get colorful
Art week will explore color theory, color blending and the color wheel as we create and design everything from Van Gogh’s Starry Night to Picasso selfportraits. We will use a variety of materials such as clay, pastels, watercolors and chalk to make a colorful portfolio to bring home at the end of the week.

July 3 – 7 (no July 4th) | Nature Explorers
This week we will explore all things in nature, our sensory garden, butterflies and bees. We will learn about the parts of a plant and flower and even bring home plants for our own home garden. We will make art using natural materials. And cook with fresh vegetables and fruits.
July 10 -14 | Oh the places you’ll go! Part A
Traveling to distant lands and far off places. The present and past will meet as the children explore ancient Egypt and Greece to learn about the land we currently stand on in South Carolina. From the grand canyons to the Eiffel Tower, we will learn about structures and culture and the people that inhabit the earth we share.
July 17 – 21 | Oh the Places you’ll go! Part B
This week we will travel to Asia and explore the celebrations with our traveling Freeman Foundation Asian Celebration exhibits. We will cook food, create Asian art, and learn about a variety of celebrations from the continent of Asia.

July 24 – 28 | Life in the Lowcountry
This week we will look and talk about what makes our Lowcountry living so important. We will explore our Gullah language and culture and dive into learning about the local shrimp industry and learn about the art of basket sewing.

July 31 – August 4 | A Journey through Space
Come and explore our planets and solar system along with the study of the continents, conservation and biomes. We will use activities from the NISE network including shadows, orbits and eclipses. We will also explore aerodynamics and try to make our own flying machines.
