Alliance Dance Academy
The main reason Alliance Dance Academy has been such a successful upstart is because it is different. Owner Rochelle Clarkson, affectionately known as Miss Rochelle, had a vision, and then her teachers and staff helped make it happen. “We don’t fill gaps; we hire educated and experienced teachers with a passion for teaching, dance, and kids. We do our homework beforehand, and all of our staff and teachers have the right experiences to be part of our team,” she said. With over 35 years of experience, Clarkson has learned when you have quality teachers who are all on the same page, you create a synergistic effect, and everything clicks! “Our teachers all have the same mindset, a passion for dance, and a mission to bring out the best in each student while keeping it fun! And yes, fun is important because when kids have fun together, their willingness to help one another grows stronger,” she said. “Those special friendships often extend beyond the studio, including their parents, and can be lifelong. We want what is best for our dancers and their families, always doing our best to keep it a positive and loving environment. We manage to balance strong technique with a caring family environment. We want to know the parents; we want them to feel welcomed and appreciated. “Our teachers know they aren’t just employees, they are family,” she continued. “We work as a team. ‘Teamwork makes the dream work!’ It may sound strange to say as a business owner, but I don’t do this for the money. The money will happen if everything else is in place. “I do this because of what I personally gain from the whole experience—the teachers, the parents, the kids and the community; they are my motivation.” Dance is really about discipline, respect, building confidence and so many other things that play a role in dancers becoming successful adults. This is what Miss Rochelle and her staff were put on earth to do, and it shows in the amazing results they are achieving. 39 Persimmon Street, Suite 404 Bluffton, South Carolina 29910 (843) 757-8277 www.alliancedanceacademy.com
