The summer season is in full swing, and the Lowcountry real estate market is experiencing robust energy and activity from both buyers and sellers.

It’s an exciting time, as Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate continues to grow strategically throughout the region. In June, Howard Hanna Allen Tate announced the opening of its Port Royal office, partnering with Carolina Realty of the Lowcountry. This month, the company celebrates the one-year anniversary of joining forces with Coastal Properties.

These acquisitions, along with Alliance Realty Group in 2024, make up Howard Hanna Allen Tate’s impressive portfolio in the region, and establish the company as the fastest growing real estate firm in the Lowcountry. Howard Hanna Allen Tate has six Lowcountry offices: Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Port Royal, Savannah, and Sun City/Okatie, with 180 sales agents.

“Our greatest advantage is simple: We are the Lowcountry,” said Gary Scott, president of Howard Hanna Allen Tate. “Families and individuals from across the country continue to discover the incredible lifestyle we are fortunate to call home. From our beautiful coastline and vibrant communities to our unmatched quality of life, the region remains one of the most desirable places to live, work, and retire.”

Scott recently shared his insights on the local market and Howard Hanna’s vision for continued growth.

Q: What’s happening with the Lowcountry’s real estate market right now?

A: While Q2 2026 inventory was down slightly from the same period last year, closed sales and median sales price were both up about 4%. Homes are still receiving about 95% of asking price but they are taking a little longer to sell – about 81 days – as buyers are taking their time to find the right property. These are signs of a more balanced market that is both healthy and sustainable, with opportunities for both buyers and sellers.

Q: Howard Hanna Allen Tate has quickly established its brand in the Lowcountry. Why have you been so successful?

A: Since 1957, the Howard Hanna brand has always grown purposefully, and with our customer at the forefront of every decision we make. We have strategically partnered with like-minded companies in the Lowcountry who share that vision. We strive to deliver exceptional service and create an outstanding experience for buyers and sellers alike. Our commitment to excellence has been proven over the past 69 years, and that legacy continues to guide us every day.

Q: How does today’s real estate market differ from a few years ago?

A: Real estate has become increasingly complex for consumers because of industry regulations, shifting dynamics, and, honestly, companies aligned with Wall Street. Howard Hanna has always been family-owned and operated. We have always believed that excellence is the standard, and we have held our agents to that same standard. Our goal has always been to help consumers confidently navigate the complexities of the real estate transaction while helping them find the place they are proud to call home.

Q: What’s ahead?

A: We are incredibly optimistic about the future. Homes are continuing to appreciate at a healthy pace that is sustainable. The Lowcountry will continue to be a destination where people come not only to visit, but to build their lives, create memories, and invest in their future. We are honored to be part of that journey and look forward to serving this remarkable community for many years to come.
