The Coastal Discovery will welcome Beau Bauer on January 24 at 2 pm for this presentation as part of our Discovery Lecture series. Wood duck recovery from near extinction in the early 20th century is largely due to the implementation of thousands of next boxes throughout the species’ range. Despite thriving across their range, little is known about the current effectiveness of next boxes in regard to growing and sustaining these populations. Join us to learn more about the history of wood duck nest boxes, multi-state research efforts examining their contributions to population growth, and management tips.
Beau Bauer is a Certified Wildlife Biologist for Nemours Wildlife Foundation where he
Conducts a variety of wildlife and habitat research and coordinates collaborative research efforts across the southeast.
