Hilton Head Choral Society "America Sings!" Concert

A MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND COMMUNITY CELEBRATION:  

THE HILTON HEAD CHORAL SOCIETY’S “AMERICA SINGS!” CONCERT

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Hilton Head Choral Society presents their annual “America Sings!” concert on Sunday, May 25 at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway. This community celebration is known as a signature event celebrating the true meaning of Memorial Day. This year’s “America Sings!” will be a powerful salute honoring those who have fought valiantly for our country’s freedom.

The dynamic, Columbia based, Category V Brass quintet will be performing and accompanying the Choral Society once again! A member of Southeastern U.S. Symphonies, Category V will captivate the audience with their pleasing tunes and patriotic sounds.

The evening will commence with the presentation of colors ceremony performed by the Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue, followed by a performance of the “Star Spangled Banner.”  Other moving tributes will include “A Just and Lasting Peace” featuring text from Lincoln’s second inaugural address, the renowned song  “After the War,” and the patriotic “Armed Forces Salute.”

“This is an evening that the members of the Choral Society eagerly anticipate throughout the entire season,” says Dr. Dustin Ousley, Artistic Director of the HHCS. “It is a profound honor to come together in remembrance and celebration of the men and women who fought for our country with such valor to secure the freedoms we are privileged to enjoy today.”

This family-friendly concert has become a Lowcountry tradition bringing together locals and visitors alike decked out in their red, white, and blue.
