1 A lover of light, whimsy, and magical moments, it all makes sense when you consider that Sheila was born on the summer solstice. Although Sheila has a great affinity for the sun and long days, she does not share the same affection for the elevated humidity and dew point, making spring and fall her favorite seasons in the Lowcountry.
2 When the outdoors calls, Sheila always answers. One of her favorite outdoor activities is hiking – taking in the scent of whatever is blooming, listening to the birds, or simply feeling the breeze against her skin. It’s where her stress melts away, leaving space for dreaming and connecting.
3 When not writing for CH2, Sheila, a licensed marriage and family therapist, can be found sitting with clients at her private practice, Heart Mind & Soul Counseling. She specializes in working with those navigating anxiety, perfectionism, and overthinking, and those carrying the weight of relationship issues and trauma. Sheila brings the same heart, wit, and straightforwardness from her articles into her therapy practice.
4 Sheila is a dog mom to Finn, a 5-year-old rescue pup who is absolutely running the show. Her life is filled with walks, play, and endless snuggles. Together with her husband, Greg, they’ve even crossed borders, with Finn proudly logging several trips to Canada under his collar.
5 Sheila was the kid getting in trouble for reading at the dinner table, skipping naps for books, and filling nearly every other moment with music. Although she took piano lessons as a child and guitar lessons from CH2’s Jevon Daly in her 20s, she’s best known for playing the radio and somehow retaining every lyric from her youth. Fun facts: Sheila co-wrote a song for a TV show that aired briefly (it was on the air for less time than it took you to read this sentence) and sang backup on an HGTV track produced by her husband, Greg Critchley.
